• Overview
• We are looking for an experienced **Lead Solution Architect** to take a senior, end-to-end role in the design and governance of **high-security on-premise and private cloud environments**.
• This is a **strategic architecture and leadership role** at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and compliance, embedded in complex, long-running programs within a **defense-tech and critical-infrastructure context**.
• The mandate is contract-based, starting around **February**, with an initial duration of **6 months** and a realistic extension up to **18 months**, depending on project progress.
• Required Experience & Skills
• We are looking for someone who brings:
• * Several years of experience as **Solution Architect or Lead Architect** in complex infrastructure projects
• * Strong background in **on-premise / private cloud architectures**
• * Proven exposure to security and compliance frameworks, especially
• * ISO/IEC 27001
• * NIST standards
• * Hands-on or architectural experience with at least one of the following:
• * Nutanix
• * HPE Sovereign Private Cloud / HPE GreenLake
• * Ability to operate confidently in security-critical and regulated environments
• * Strong analytical, conceptual, and documentation skills
• * Clear communication style with both technical teams and management
• * Architect high-impact, non-commodity infrastructure
• * Work at senior level with real decision authority
• * Long-running mandate with extension potential
• * Technically challenging, not buzzword-driven
• * High autonomy, clear expectations, and strong governance
• * Security & Compliance: This role requires eligibility for a Swiss PSP (personal security screening) due to the sensitive nature of the projects.

Responsibilities:

• Your Role & Responsibilities
• As Lead Solution Architect, you will:
• * Own the **overall target architecture** for a secure on-prem / private cloud environment
• * Act as **technical lead and decision authority** across architecture and design topics
• * Translate **security, compliance, and regulatory requirements** into robust technical designs
• * Guide external technology partners during design, implementation, and validation phases
• * Ensure architectural consistency across infrastructure, security, and operations layers
• * Review, challenge, and approve solution designs and technical concepts
• * Support **RFP/RFQ and vendor evaluation processes** from an architectural perspective
• * Accompany testing, acceptance, and handover into operations
• * Work closely with internal IT, security, and compliance stakeholders at senior level
