Web Developer / Digital Content Manager

Salary: CHF 90’000 - 120’000 per year

Requirements:

• Degree in computer science or comparable background
• Relevant work experience in application development, ideally in a research environment
• Practical experience in developing and maintaining web applications
• Comfortable with frontend and backend technologies (HTML/CSS/JS, PHP-based and Python-based frameworks)
• Experienced in managing and presenting digital content
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of German is an asset

Responsibilities:

• Manage the TYPO3-powered Biozentrum website, handling content and technical updates (microsites, new content sections, formats)
• Develop and maintain internal web applications (Python/Django, PHP/Laminas) to support research, teaching, and administrative processes; familiarity with front-end JavaScript development is highly desired
• Create new tools for data visualization and analysis for the global scientific community
• Continuously advance the website and tools in coordination with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and provide training and support for content editors
