Senior Data Engineer - remote

Salary: CHF 90'000 - 120'000 per year

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in data warehouse development and data modeling, ideally with Redshift and Matillion
• Advanced SQL skills with a strong focus on query performance, scalability, and maintainable transformation logic
• Solid experience designing dimensional or relational business data models for analytical use cases
• Working knowledge of AWS services relevant to the warehouse layer, particularly S3, Redshift, and Lambda
• Familiarity with BI tools — preferably Tableau — with a good eye for how model design impacts end-user experience
• Experience with master data management and cross-system data consolidation
• Strong business acumen combined with structured analytical thinking — you ask the right questions and bridge the gap between stakeholders and data
• Python skills and experience with Infrastructure as Code and Ansible are a plus
• Fluent in English, German is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve our data warehouse stack (Matillion, Redshift, Tableau), ensuring reliability, performance, and long-term scalability
• Design and maintain sustainable business data models that serve as the single source of truth for reporting and analytics
• Develop and optimize complex SQL transformations and ETL pipelines using Matillion to support business-critical use cases
• Manage master data processes to ensure accurate consolidation and consistency across all connected systems
• Translate business requirements into well-structured, documented data models - challenging assumptions where needed
• Collaborate closely with BI and analytics consumers to ensure data is accessible, understandable, and fit for purpose
• Share knowledge through documentation, internal presentations, and active cross-functional collaboration
