Senior Lead Data Engineer

Salary: CHF 95'000 - 125'000 per year

Requirements:

• 8+ years of related experience or equivalent, with deep technical expertise in data warehousing, data modeling and ELT concepts
• Experience in SQL, Python or equivalent programming
• Significant experience partnering with Finance and Operations stakeholders, translating complex business needs into robust data solutions and high-quality data models
• Experience managing one or more teams with ICs under direct management, empowering them to ship high-quality code at pace while navigating trade-offs
• Expert knowledge of data infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, observability and workflow orchestration in distributed cloud environments
• Hands-on experience on cloud platforms, with GCP preferred, and automated CI/CD
• Familiarity with AI tooling for data such as analytics LLMs or conversational analytics, and demonstrable knowledge of using AI to innovate in the data sphere
• Exceptional communicator and team player, adept at guiding team decisions, fostering consensus, and effectively conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences

Responsibilities:

• Drive the design of data models, bring in new data sources, and build data pipelines while leveraging SQL to provide clean, tested, documented and well-defined data
• Act as a leader for data engineers, data analysts and data scientists by providing guidance on architectural and design decisions
• Evangelize and encourage best practices and governance policies
• Act as a point of contact for multiple business functions and collaborate with stakeholders to create relevant data products to enhance data adoption and increase trust
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and proactively identify and deliver data products with significant impact across functions or regions
• Enable the team to make timely and informed decisions for consequential, potentially irreversible decisions
• Provide direction and support in tackling complex new problems by identifying underlying issues and root causes
• Be accountable for the teams technical decisions and solutions, ensuring alignment with Data Engineering best practices and Ons overall Tech architecture, security, and compliance guidelines
• Actively promote formal and informal mentoring, provide growth opportunities, and build an inclusive team environment that fosters candid feedback
