Principal Real World Data Scientist

Salary: CHF 100'000 - 130'000 per year

Requirements:

• A PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience applying real-world data analysis in pharmaceutical research

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of complex, high-impact real-world data studies
• Improve our understanding of disease biology and inform biomarker strategies
• Generate actionable insights into patient populations and treatment outcome prediction
• Drive the integration of diverse real-world data sources, including EHR, claims, registries, and linked datasets
• Apply advanced analytical approaches to inform clinical development decisions
• Influence and optimise study designs, patient eligibility criteria, and endpoint strategies
• Ensure real-world data is effectively leveraged across the drug development lifecycle
• Operate as a trusted strategic partner to senior stakeholders and translate complex analytical findings into impactful decisions
• Contribute to the broader scientific and technical strategy within the Computational Biology and Medicine department
• Draw on global expertise and drive best practices in real-world data analysis
• Mentor and develop talent
• Establish methodological standards and scalable analytical solutions
• Lead the design and execution of complex data analyses to guide investment and clinical decisions across early-phase programmes
• Ensure all real-world data outputs are reproducible, statistically rigorous, and built using scalable, reusable analytical frameworks
• Use real-world data to optimise Phase I/II settings through cohort definition, endpoint exploration, and the development of external control arms
• Combine real-world data with biomarker and omics data to map patient trajectories and enable targeted, personalised treatment approaches
• Act as a technical and scientific lead to develop junior talent and foster a high-performing, collaborative research culture
• Serve as a trusted scientific liaison between data functions and clinical stakeholders to align evidence generation with portfolio priorities
